Your privacy and confidentiality are taken seriously at Therapize Me. This policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and the limited situations in which confidentiality may need to be broken.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is a cornerstone of our work together. What you share during sessions — including your identity, contact information, session content, and personal history — is kept private and is not disclosed to employers, family members, or third parties without your explicit written consent, except as described below.
When confidentiality may be broken
There are only a few circumstances where I may be required or ethically obligated to share information without your consent:
- · If you express intent to harm yourself or others, or if there is a safety concern involving a child or vulnerable person.
- · If a court order or other legal mandate requires disclosure of records or information.
In all other cases, your information stays confidential. Whenever it is safe and legally possible, I will discuss any need to share information with you before doing so.
Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to provide coaching services and communicate with you, such as your name, email address, phone number, and any details you choose to share during sessions or intake forms.
How information is stored
Electronic records are stored on encrypted, password-protected systems and accessed only by Afsha Merchant. Any paper records, if kept, are stored in a secure, locked location.
Communication
Email and text messaging are convenient, but they are not fully secure. Please use them for scheduling and non-urgent matters only, and avoid sharing highly sensitive details over these channels.
